MONA, the Museum of Old and New Art is located on Hobart’s river at Berriedale, a suburb about 15 minutes north of the city centre.
Opened in 2011, MONA has transformed both the arts and tourism scene in Tasmania and has been hailed internationally as one of the most exciting modern museum and art gallery’s in the world.
MONA not only houses both classic and controversial art, there is also a library, a brewery and bar, a restaurant and vineyard on the site, making MONA a wonderful day trip option.
Ferries regularly depart for MONA from the dock area in Hobart, just a few hundred metres from the hotel.
